Class Announcements
Week of April 20

Reminders for the Week of April 19th:
  • We started chapter 9 in our History Alive book today.  Students will be taking the test on Friday.  Students should be studying all week using the textbook, social studies workbook, and the online tutorial which can be found at www.tutorial.historyalive.com.
  • Due to the number of weather-related cancellations and delays this winter, grades K-5 WILL attend classes on Friday, April 23rd. This day was previously planned as a teacher-only professional learning day but is now needed as a student contact day to ensure compliance with Colorado requirements. This applies to elementary grades ONLY.
  • All Grace Best Reads has been moved to Friday, 4/23.  The theme this year is poetry.  Students may wear PJ’s and bring a blanket, pillow, stuffed animal, and plenty of reading material.  Student council will be collecting $1 for the PJ day to be donated to our playground fund.  We will get comfortable in the gym and read from 1:30 to 3:15.
  • The middle school math department is offering summer review books for sale.  Notes were sent home today with the details.  Your child’s math teacher has recommended a review book level.  This recommendation does not necessarily indicate your child’s math class placement for next year.  Those placements will not be determined until this summer.  You may purchase books at more than one level.
  • A message from PTO President, Gretchen Donisi:  “To kick off the Spring Book fair the PTO is sponsoring Bingo for Books on April 26 from 6:00 - 8:00.  Bingo will be 6:30 - 7:30, cards are a $1 donation; winners receive a $5 gift certificate to be used at the Book Fair.  We will be serving Root Beer Floats and popcorn.  There will also be a raffle for additional prizes.”  Please attend the BINGO and support the Book Fair!
  • 5th grade students will have the opportunity to travel to Palmer Ridge High School on May 5th to see the theatre group perform Cinderella.   Watch for a permission slip coming soon!
  • All 5th grade students must read two independent reading books in his or her independent reading level (must be approved by the reading teacher) this trimester and take the AR tests.  The AR scores will be part of each child's reading grade.  Please help your child manage his or her time to complete the independent reading assignment.
  • Please check and sign planners each day.

Please call any questions or concerns.   Have a great week!
